United Methodist Women (UMW)

UMW meets the 2nd Thursday of the month at 7:30 in the parlor. All women in the congregation are invited to attend.

Our United Methodist Women are a community of Women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church

The emblem of the United Methodist Women, the cross and the flame, symbolizes our organization. The cross and the flame are ancient symbols of the church. Both symbols remind us of the opportunities and obligations of discipleship.

As parts of our emblem, the cross and the flame remind us of our PURPOSE of growing in our understanding of and willingness to participate in the global ministries of the church. They remind us of our heritage of women who pioneered in service for the church at home and in other countries.

The overall shape of the emblem is also symbolic. Fluid and free flowing, the shape suggests change and mobility. The women who came before us were at the forefront of movements for change. Always aware of the times, we move with ever-changing circumstances rather than feeling overwhelmed by them.

We are a twentieth-century movement called United Methodist Women. We are a group of Christian women with many gifts who are unified by one spirit. We participate in God's mission in all areas of life.

Youth Group

The Youth Group invites all youth 6 grade and up to join them in the Youth Room (Room #10), the first room on the left as you enter the Religious Education (R.E.) Building, at 10:45 every Sunday.

Vacation Bible School (VBS)

VBS will be held during the last week in August. It is a series of lively, theme based, evening activities for children of all ages and adults. This program welcomes active participation from the community.

Our Congregation LOVES to sing!

In addition to providing music at our regular service, the Adult Choir also leads specific musical Services at special times such as Christmas season and Good Friday.

Our Sunday School children bless us with their fine voices during Worship on a regular basis.

Adult choir rehearsal is at 7:30 pm on Wednesdays.

The Nurture Committee provides programs to enhance the sprit of the congregation. We nurture and enhance community spirit in the congregation.

Some of our activities include:

  • Summer backyard breakfasts after church services in July and August

Lydia Circle

Lydia Circle meets on the first Wednesday morning of each month at 10:30 AM in the church parlor, except during the winter months. We encourage all ladies to attend. This group provides mission and fellowship opportunities in a loving and caring setting. It's always a surprise what we talk about. Our coffee pot is always on and we'd be happy to welcome you.

If you want to meet interesting guest speakers as well be part of a great group of women, come join the Lydia Circle and have your eyes open to what was, and what could be.

Men's Discussion Group

Are you looking for something to do? The Men's Discussion Group meets each Tuesday at 9:30 AM in the church parlor. Talk about everything from politics to religion; nothing is taboo. A thought provoking 2 hours of discussion and fun. If you want to be part of something great, stop by on any Tuesday 9:30 AM am and have some laughs, good food, and coffee and become one with the group.

The Evangelism Committee works to help people find our church and then to make sure that all are welcomed to our church family. Our Church is using its warmth and caring to become a more welcoming church. As part of that effort, we are actively and intentionally preparing ourselves to welcome newcomers to assure that all are welcome to our Church family. We open our doors and our arms to those who are looking for a new church home and those who are just looking.
